Pre-trip inspections
Heading to the High Country, the Vic Alps, the Otways or up the centre? Book in a pre-trip inspection two to three weeks before you leave. We check wheel bearings, CV boots, diff and transfer case oil, gearbox oil, coolant condition, brake pads and rotors, suspension bushes, shocks, tyres and spare, battery and alternator health, belts and hoses. Anything that needs replacement has time to be ordered and fitted before you go.
Diesel specifics
Modern common rail diesels need clean fuel and clean oil to live a long life. We use the correct low SAPS oils where required, fit quality filtration, and offer secondary pre-filters (Direction Plus, Fuel Manager) for vehicles that tour remote. We diagnose and clean DPFs, inspect EGR systems and address turbo and intercooler leaks before they put you in limp mode away from home.
Towing setups
Towing a van or trailer changes the demands on the brakes, transmission, cooling system and tyres. We service automatics more often than the book suggests for vehicles that tow regularly, fit transmission temperature gauges where useful, and recommend brake friction matched to the load. Aftermarket gear
We work around bull bars, dual battery systems, drawer setups, snorkels and suspension lifts. If you have had a lift fitted and the steering feels off or the front tyres are wearing on the edges, we can do a wheel alignment to suit and check the geometry corrections that should have been done at install.
